Lucky 13 Strategies is a marketing strategy firm based in Seattle, serving companies around the world. Our focus is on helping businesses make their mark in an increasingly competitive marketplace. Whether you need strategy or marketing pieces, our goal is always to make sure your message is heard well above any others.
We begin every project by taking a close look at your message – how you communicate about what you do. Founder Lilly Ghahremani is an attorney who now “uses her powers for good” (don’t worry, she got her MBA for good measure). Together, we will build a case for your business, considering the most persuasive ways to present your strengths. We’ll also keep an eye out for holes you may be missing (that’s where the lawyer part comes in!) that are making the difference in your message’s impact.
What types of businesses do we work with? It changes every day. We have worked with software, technology and healthcare companies, artists, law firms, financial organizations, real estate agents, fitness companies, local mom and pop businesses, nonprofits, and many more. You name it, we’ve done it. We always welcome the chance to tackle a new industry – doing so lets us bring a completely fresh perspective to our work with you, which is often just what you were missing.
Lilly Ghahremani, JD, MBA founded Lucky 13 when she realized that, while big corporations have all the marketing help they could hope for, the companies that need it most – startups, nonprofits and smaller businesses – were at a disadvantage. She realized this while she was at one such large company, so she did what any mildly insane person would do: she resigned as the Chief Marketing Officer of a large holding corporation, where she had been overseeing the daily marketing needs of 35+ companies.
Today, Lilly works personally with each and every one of our clients, to give them direct access to the marketing insight and strategies they were previously missing. Lilly’s hands-on approach to marketing consulting is something clients love and return for. They work with her, not an associate, not an intern, to get direction on what to do next, the goal being to empower businesses to manage their own marketing going forward. Lucky 13’s extended family of collaborators includes print and web designers, web developers, photographers and videographers, animators, printers, Adwords specialists, social media managers and more. We take a unique approach to your needs, so every project team is completely customized (but uniformly awesome).
Lilly is a proud graduate of University of Michigan (Go Blue!), UCLA School of Law (JD), and San Diego State University’s School of Business (MBA). Yes, she passed the California bar. And no, she won’t get mad if you tell her a lawyer joke (but she may steal it!). She enjoys public speaking on marketing topics, and has been a guest speaker for Proctor Gallagher Institute’s Matrixx event in Toronto and Women in the Channel. She sits on the Board of Directors of the Irlen Syndrome Foundation, the Washington Board for Gift of Adoption, and is an advisor to KPBS on its Emerging Leaders initiative, among other charities.
Lilly has been involved in marketing since over a decade ago, when she co-founded Full Circle Literary, a boutique literary agency. She represents authors exclusively under the Full Circle banner, guiding them to consider their brand potential and marketing outreach, then brokering publishing deals with major houses including Penguin Random House, Harper Collins, and Simon & Schuster. Her long list of author clients to date includes Jon Yang (The Rough Guide to Blogging, Exclusively Chloe), Dawn Dais (author of the bestselling Sh!t No One Tells You series), James Beard semi-finalist Rob Connoley, and pop culture journalist and Huffington Post contributor Dr. Sheila Moeschen. Although Lilly has yet to write her own marketing tell-all, she authored a column about communication for the glossy ZAN Magazine and you can read her article about networking for the American Bar Association here.
When not immersed in all things Lucky 13, you can find Lilly: on a plane to her beloved San Diego (where L13 was previously based) or exploring somewhere fascinating in the world; curled up with one of the six books she’s reading at any given time; pushing her physical limits with the newest workout trend; or exploring her way through her new city of Seattle, WA.
She looks forward to meeting you!
